Job Description

As a Support & Release Engineer with strong Java knowledge, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the stability of our systems, facilitate smooth deployments, and streamline customer onboarding. You will be instrumental in providing our clients with a reliable and well-supported experience right from the beginning. Your role will involve being the first point of contact for technical support, resolving issues, assisting customers, and bridging the gap between the business and engineering teams. Additionally, you will contribute to backend code to enhance stability, develop tools to support the support process, manage release processes, and improve the onboarding experience for new clients. Key Responsibilities: - Support & Triage: Provide initial support to internal teams and clients, investigate issues, identify trends, and escalate when necessary. - Release Management: Oversee deployments to AWS and Azure, enhance build and deployment reliability through CI/CD pipelines and automation. - Customer Onboarding: Lead the technical onboarding process for new clients, streamline steps to reduce complexity and repetition. - Bug Fixing & Stability: Rectify backend bugs in Java, implement minor enhancements to boost system reliability and supportability. - Tooling & Monitoring: Enhance support tools, logging mechanisms, and monitoring systems for quicker issue detection and resolution. - Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. Key Requirements: - Flexibility: Availability and flexibility to support UK customers whenever required. - Support-first mindset: Enthusiasm for problem-solving and assisting others in achieving success. - Release know-how: Experience in coordinating releases and deployments, familiarity with CI/CD and scripting. - Java proficiency: Ability to navigate Java backend codebases, fix bugs, integrate APIs, and enhance stability. - Process improvement: Passion for enhancing onboarding, deployment, and support processes. - Strong communication: Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical teams and stakeholders. Bonus Skills: - Exposure to DevOps and/or CI/CD. - Familiarity with web application security and best practices.
