Role Overview: As the Applications Development Group Manager at Citigroup, you will be a senior management level position responsible for leading a team in establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. Your main objective will be to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities, while also being a hands-on developer. Key Responsibilities: - Manage multiple teams of professionals to achieve established goals and handle personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions - Provide strategic influence over resources, budget management, and planning, while monitoring end results - Utilize in-depth knowledge of applications development and related procedures to resolve issues and define standards - Integrate applications development knowledge with overall technology function to achieve goals - Exercise evaluative judgement in complicated situations, drawing from internal and external sources - Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as needed - Assess risk in business decisions with consideration for the firm's reputation and compliance with laws and regulations Qualifications: - 18+ years of total experience with 13+ years in Java Fullstack development - Hands-on experience in Java with Angular or React - Experience in managing global technology teams - Effective communication with Senior Stakeholders in Business, Operations, and Technology - Working knowledge of industry practices and standards - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills - Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred Additional Details of the Company: The Senior Technologist at Citigroup will lead the technology transformation and migration to native cloud-based platforms using the latest technology stack. The leader is expected to be hands-on in development and DevOps practices to influence the culture positively. Strong knowledge of development practices and tools, particularly in GenAI, will be crucial to improving engineering team productivity.
