About The Opportunity

Opportunity within the IT Staffing & Recruitment sector supporting enterprise software development for a client operating in the Financial Services / Enterprise Applications space. We are hiring an on-site Java Software Engineer in India to join a product-focused engineering team building scalable, secure, low-latency backend systems.Role: Java Software Engineer (On-site, India)

Role & Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java to deliver scalable, resilient microservices for production workloads.
Implement RESTful APIs, data persistence layers (JPA/Hibernate) and efficient database interactions with SQL-based systems.
Build and consume microservices using Spring Boot; ensure observability through logging, metrics and tracing.
Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; enforce code quality through automated testing and code reviews.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimate tasks, and collaborate closely with product, QA and operations to ship features end-to-end.
Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement performance and reliability improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

Java (Java 8 or later)
Spring Boot
Microservices architecture
RESTful APIs
Hibernate / JPA
SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

Preferred

Docker
Kubernetes
AWS (EC2, RDS, S3) or equivalent cloud platform

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience delivering production Java applications in an Agile environment; comfort working on-site in India.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control (Git) is advantageous.
