Infrastructure Engineer-Linux Administration(SUSE Linux)

As a Senior Linux System Engineer at our company, your main focus will be on leading the upgrade and lifecycle management of our SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for SAP Applications infrastructure. Your expertise in system hardening, patch management, high availability clustering, and automation will be crucial in environments supporting SAP HANA and Oracle databases. Key Responsibilities: - Perform inline upgrades of SUSE Linux (e.g., SP4/SP5 SP6/SP7) to ensure compatibility and integrity of SAP HANA and Oracle database workloads. - Manage and support Pacemaker HA clusters, including VMs, resource migration, and minimizing downtime during maintenance and upgrades. - Design and implement OS hardening strategies to enhance security posture and enforce best practices. - Develop and execute a patching strategy across environments for compliance, stability, and business continuity. - Troubleshoot and resolve boot-level issues, including recovery via Single User Mode and GRUB repair. - Lead the pre-upgrade preparation process, ensuring readiness of all VMs with detailed checklists covering backup, resource availability, and rollback steps. - Provide hands-on support for complex Linux tasks, including custom kernel compilation, advanced storage management, and performance tuning in SAP and Oracle environments. Required Skills & Experience: - Strong experience with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for SAP Applications, including inline service pack upgrades. - Expertise in Linux hardening, compliance standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks), and patch management. - Hands-on experience with Pacemaker clusters, HA for SAP HANA and Oracle databases, and supporting virtual environments. - Proficiency in Bash scripting or other automation tools for systems administration tasks. - Solid knowledge of LVM, including creation, extension, volume movement, and recovery. - Experience handling complex storage, bootloader, and kernel-level issues in enterprise Linux systems.,
