Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Execution:
Developing, documenting, and executing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe applications. This often involves both manual and automated testing.
Defect Management:
Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
Collaboration:
Working closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment between business needs and system functionality.
Testing Types:
Performing various types of testing, including regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Analysis and Reporting:
Analyzing test results, providing feedback to improve product quality, and generating reports on testing progress and defect status.
Continuous Improvement:
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in QA methodologies and tools, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices in QA processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Mainframe Expertise:
Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and concepts, potentially including COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, etc.
Testing Methodologies:
Proficiency in various testing methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
