Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Analysis and Design:
Understanding business needs, gathering functional and non-functional requirements, and translating them into technical specifications.
Development and Coding:
Developing and maintaining mainframe applications using technologies like COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and potentially CICS.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Writing test cases, performing unit testing, and collaborating on system and integration testing.
Code Review and Optimization:
Reviewing code for quality, performance, and adherence to standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
Working closely with business analysts, QA teams, DBAs, and other development teams.
Project Support:
Providing support during the implementation and post-implementation phases, including production support.
Documentation:
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including interface control documents.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong Mainframe Skills:
Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and potentially CICS.
SDLC

and Agile Methodologies:
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development practices.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze requirements, identify issues, and develop solutions.
Communication and Collaboration Skills:
Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Knowledge of Best Practices:
Understanding of industry best practices for mainframe development.
Experience with Version Control and Schedulers:
Experience using tools like Endeavor and TWS.
