Head of Research & Development (R&D)/ New Product Development

Key Responsibilities

• Innovation & Product Development:

  Lead the design, development, and enhancement of orthotic products such as posture correctors, lumbar sacral belts, and other support devices.

• Research & Material Evaluation:

  Identify, test, and validate advanced materials (textiles, polymers, composites) for improved comfort, durability, and biomechanical support.

• Clinical & User-Centric Design:

  Collaborate with healthcare professionals, physiotherapists, and end-users to ensure ergonomic, medically effective, and patient-friendly designs.

• Prototype & Testing:

  Oversee prototyping, performance evaluation, and clinical validation studies of new products.

• Compliance & Quality:

  Ensure products meet medical device regulations, safety standards, and ISO certifications relevant to orthotics.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing teams to align product development with business strategy.

• Team Leadership:

  Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving.

• IP & Competitive Edge:

  Monitor market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to guide innovation pipelines and protect intellectual property.

Education and Qualifications

• B.Tech or Master’s in

  Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Orthotics or any related field

  .
• Minimum

  5 years of experience

  in medical devices, orthotics, or wearable healthcare product development.
• Proven track record in

  end-to-end product development

  , from concept to commercialization.
• Strong knowledge of

  ergonomics, and material technologies

  .
• Demonstrated leadership in

  managing R&D teams

  , budgets, and innovation pipelines.
• Familiarity with

  prototyping techniques, and product lifecycle management (PLM)

  systems preferred.
