Job Description

You will be joining the exciting Swiss Re journey aimed at transforming its global L&H experience studies (ES) landscape. Your primary responsibility will involve shaping, influencing, introducing, and maintaining a new standardized and state-of-the-art solution tailored for the global L&H experience studies community. The Leap R Migration Team is a newly formed global team dedicated to supporting the adoption of the Leap R tool by local experience studies teams. This tool has been developed based on a global methodology to enable ES actuaries to efficiently undertake experience studies using R, thereby facilitating improved generation of insights for pricing and other stakeholders. As part of the Experience Studies Centre within L&H Portfolio Steering & Monitoring under the Chief Underwriting Office, the team collaborates closely with local ES teams to achieve migration targets. As the candidate for the role, reporting to the L&H Experience Studies Product Manager, your key responsibility will be to build and lead the Leap R Migration Team. This team is tasked with supporting the rollout and adoption of the Leap R ES engine by local experience studies teams in Asia and EMEA. Your leadership skills will be crucial in planning migrations of studies previously conducted with SAS or R to be transitioned to Leap R. In collaboration with your team, you will deliver experience analyses for stakeholders, including experience studies, pricing, and valuation. Key Responsibilities: - Hiring and forming the Leap R Migration Team in collaboration with the L&H ES Product Manager - Providing technical guidance to the team and developing customized programs for team members - Offering day-to-day management support - Planning and managing the delivery of migrated studies by the team to achieve annual migration targets - Developing and maintaining processes, frameworks, and standard operating procedures - Ensuring migration of experience studies aligns with global methodology and standards - Fostering collaboration across regions and central teams to ensure a common global approach Essentials: - Qualified actuary with 10+ years of experience in L&H reinsurance, primary insurance, or consulting - Hands-on experience with L&H experience studies and governance framework - Working knowledge in R, Python, SAS, or other actuarial programming languages - Experience in managing medium-sized teams effectively - Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholder influencing skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve successful delivery Nice to Have: - Expertise in a variety of L&H products across global markets/regions Swiss Re is a leading provider of reinsurance, insurance, and risk transfer solutions, committed to making the world more resilient.
