ROLE PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
The purpose of the role is to providing leadership, direction and strategy for New Initiatives, Cloud and Architecture in IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with creating and deploying designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
This role will be responsible for the design and development including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, design, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational management.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
Business
- Develop & designs architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
- Design, build and maintain automation tools to reduce manual and repetitive tasks.
- Reviewing new and existing IT projects, systems designs and plans.
- Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
- Solve complex problems related to infrastructure & security, cloud services, application services and build automation to prevent problem occurrence.
- Experience working with fully managed fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, multi-tenant, scalable systems.
Customer
- Collaborating with staff, users and senior management on establishing business goals.
- Maintain effective professional relationships with IT relationship managers.
- Maintain expert knowledge on all business procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all established guidelines and management practices for employees.
- Identify internal enterprise architecture requirements by interviewing customers (business users); analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems.
Internal Process
- Leading cross-functional teams in a hands-on manner, diagnosing complex issues on the various platforms i.e. application, infrastructure, and security platforms.
- Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as SOPs.
- Propel the crafting and implementation of incident response strategies, drawing your background to forestall potential future issues.
- Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and the dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
Learning & Performance
- Providing leadership, direction, and strategy to the SRE, New Initiatives, Cloud and Architecture verticals.
- Motivate team to work together in the most efficient manner.
- Prepare users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems.
- Ensure goal-setting, midyear -review and annual appraisal process happens within specified timelines for self.
- Ensure adherence to training man-days/ mandatory training programs for self.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Educational
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Post-graduate qualification is preferred.
Experience
- 15-20 years of experience in banking IT operations with experience in infrastructure & security, cloud services, application services & build automation.
Certifications
- Good to have a certification on TOGAF, Zachmann, ITSM. Not mandatory
Functional Skills
- Proficiency in Enterprise Architecture Framework, Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.
- Ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective architectures that meet business requirements and align with industry best practices.
- Familiar with project management best practices and tools, ability to manage and coordinate projects effectively.
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and identify the most suitable technology solutions.
- As an EA, your (leadership) executive presence, digital strategy, software and technical architecture expertise will guide cross-functional project teams through definition, deployment and optimization stages of applications hosted in our environment.
- Updated knowledge of various (new and upcoming) compliance requirements, ability to align the architecture with the compliance requirements.
