Job Description

Plutus Labs is a gaming company backed by a16z games & konvoy ventures. We're building a game generation engine and hiring game developers experienced in Three.js.


Responsibilities

  • Prototype and ship bite-sized Three.js games quickly.
  • Build reusable templates/components (scenes, controllers, UI, physics, level logic) for rapid iteration
  • Instrument games for telemetry/events.
  • Optimize for WebGL performance (draw calls, materials, textures, batching) and mobile web constraints
  • Collaborate with teams to translate specs into game mechanics and synthetic data generators
  • Maintain solid DX: linting, testing, CI, and lightweight docs so others can extend your work


What you should i Know?

  • 2–5+ years building with Three.js (JS/TS), strong grasp of game loops, cameras, lights, and loaders
  • Comfort with GLTF/asset pipelines, basic GLSL/shader tweaks, and a physics lib (Cannon/Ammo)
  • Familiarity with Vite/Webpack, Node, and simple backends/WebSockets for real-time needs
  • A portfolio/GitHub with small but polished web games or interactive demos
  • Bonus: experience with React Three Fiber, ECS patterns, or procedural generation
