Functional Safety Architect

As a Functional Safety Architect in our semiconductor architecture design team, you will play a crucial role in owning the device safety architecture and leading efforts to achieve safety goals for next-generation semiconductor devices. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various teams, developing safety concepts, performing safety analyses, defining safe architecture patterns, reviewing safety designs, and ensuring diagnostic coverage metrics. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Architects, Silicon Design, and Software teams to architect new safety concepts and features, guiding future development. - Perform safety analyses using methodologies such as FTA, FMEA, and DFA to ensure compliance with safety requirements. - Define safe architecture patterns including lockstep CPUs, ECC memories, watchdogs, and redundancy. - Review and contribute to writing safety requirement specifications with Functional Safety Engineers (FSEs). - Guide teams on ASIL/SIL decomposition, fault tolerance, and diagnostics coverage. - Collaborate with design verification teams to define safety V&V strategy, ensuring fault injection and simulation. - Ensure achievement of diagnostic coverage metrics such as SPFM, LFM, and PMHF. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - BS with 10 years or MS with 8 years of silicon industry experience. - Relevant safety professional certifications (e.g., FSCP, FS Professional license). - Experience in certifying devices for ASICs/PLDs/CPUs with EXIDA, TUeV, or Equivalent. - Proficiency in SysML, FMEA/FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP, and requirements-management tooling. - Strong ability to transition between system-level abstraction and implementation details. - Excellent written and oral communication skills for constructing clear safety arguments. Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with RTL coding, simulations/debug of SoC Architectures. - Desire to understand end user needs and engage with customers for safety design applications. - Commitment to complex, multi-year programs and creative issue resolution. - Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.,
