Firmware Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware.
• Work with hardware engineers to define requirements and integrate systems.
• Implement, test, and debug firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers.
• Optimize code for speed, reliability, and power efficiency.
• Document firmware architecture, design, and user guides.
• Join code reviews, testing, and validation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors in Electronics, Computers, Embedded Systems Engineering or related field
• 2–5+ years embedded firmware development; power electronics preferred
• Skilled in C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, TI, Microchip)
• Experienced with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus, BLE
• Familiarity with RTOS, bootloaders, and firmware update mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of embedded hardware and debugging tools.
• Proficient in Version control (Git) and build systems (Make/CMake).
• Effective communicator, collaborator, and documenter
• Experience with fabrication/assembly vendors
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills

• Python scripting, IoT, or Linux embedded experience
• Experience with motor control, power electronics, or battery management systems.
• Exposure to product certification and industrial communication protocols.
• Knowledge of PCB bring-up and testing.
