Role Overview

Firewall Engineer Cloud Support Management

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Firewall Management

• Administer, configure, and secure firewall systems across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Oversee provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructureensuring performance and operational resilience.
• Respond to cloud infrastructure incidents and security alerts; identify root causes and implement long-term remediation.
• Drive automation and IaC initiatives to enhance infrastructure deployment, cost optimization, and policy enforcement.

Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD Integration

• Use

  Terraform

  to define and manage cloud infrastructure, including firewall configurations.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps to streamline deployment and security updates.
• Store and manage IaC in version control systems, ensuring traceability, compliance, and policy adherence.

Security, Compliance & Policy Enforcement

• Implement strong access control, segmentation, security policies, and firewall/ACL configurations in cloud environments.
• Proactively identify security risks and recommend mitigation strategies in hybrid-cloud deployments.

Monitoring, Audit & Incident Response

• Deploy monitoring solutions for cloud and firewall security visibility.
• Define key reliability and security metrics; build runbooks and escalation processes.
• Audit firewall configurations and maintain documentation for compliance and transparency.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Coordinate with infrastructure, DevOps, security, compliance, and engineering teams to resolve incidents and improve architectural resilience.
• Create SOPs and playbooks, and contribute to team knowledge-sharing to support continuous efficiency improvement.

Qualifications & Expertise

• Experience:

  5+ years in cloud support, firewall engineering, or related network security rolesparticularly in AWS, Azure, and GCP hybrid environments.

• Education/Certifications (required or strongly preferred):

• AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect / Engineer
• Azure Administrator / Solutions Architect

• Technical Skills:

• Deep hands-on experience with Terraform and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Advanced knowledge of firewall technologies, network segmentation, VPNs, cloud network design, and firewall/ACL policy management
• Familiarity with best practices for infrastructure security and IaC compliance

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
