The Role: Financial Controller (Freelance, Remote – India)

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our international finance team on a freelance basis. You will work directly with the CEO and Financial Director, ensuring the smooth running of our finance operations, including invoicing, credit control, and supplier payments.

This is a remote role based in India, ideal for a skilled finance professional seeking flexible, part-time freelance work with an established international media company.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the production and delivery of sales invoices with 100% accuracy.
• Oversee credit control, including chasing debtors and maintaining healthy cash flow.
• Process and log expense invoices and supplier bills.
• Create and manage job sheets for suppliers (e.g. translators).
• Maintain financial records in Xero (essential requirement).
• Work closely with the Financial Director to ensure accounts are accurate, complete, and compliant.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers worldwide on finance-related matters.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise with Xero (please indicate whether Advanced, Semi-Advanced, or Basic).
• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Solid experience in credit control and bookkeeping (double-entry knowledge required).
• Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
• Excellent numerical accuracy, confidentiality, and trustworthiness (references will be required).
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Contract & Pay

• Freelance Contract (fixed term: 24 months, subject to a successful 6-month probation).
• Work Schedule: 3 days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays), 9am–5pm UK time.
• Pay: £55 per day (approx. ₹5,800/day, depending on exchange rate).
• You will be responsible for paying your own taxes in India.

• Reliable Wi-Fi connection (please attach a speed test screenshot).
• A mobile phone for business communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities remotely.
