Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer – L1 (Field Support)

Job Locations:

We are hiring for the following locations:

  • Cooch Behar, West Bengal

  • Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh
  • Jaipur, Rajasthan
  • Guwahati, Assam
  • Chandigarh

Job Description:

We are seeking Field Desktop Support Engineers (L1) to provide on-site IT support across various bank branches in the listed locations. You will be responsible for end-user hardware, software, and networking issue resolution, preventive maintenance, and compliance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L1 support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Install and configure Windows OS, antivirus software, drivers, and application patches.
  • Upgrade and replace hardware components (RAM, HDD, CPU, motherboard, etc.).
  • Conduct on-site hardware repairs or coordinate vendor-based replacements.
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues, including Cat5/Cat6 LAN cable problems and switch rack cable redressing.
  • Perform endpoint compliance checks and physical asset verifications as per project needs.
  • Log all service activities and update resolution status in the tracking tool.
  • Collect customer-signed CCFR (Customer Call Feedback Report) after every service visit.

Field Support Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel to multiple bank branches daily (3–4 per day).
  • Two-wheeler preferred for local travel (mandatory in some locations).
  • Must be available Monday to Saturday (Saturday off only as per client site holiday list).
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas as per call allocation.
  • Must speak the local language fluently for effective communication with customers.
  • Local candidates from the listed locations will be given preference.
  • Must be ready to take up any special tasks assigned by Wipro or the Bank as per project requirement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of hardware troubleshooting and peripheral support.
  • Experience in Windows OS installation and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in field conditions with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based role with daily travel to client (bank) branches.
  • Reporting structure and task allocation handled by the Bank IT Coordinator.
  • Dynamic work schedule based on real-time service call requirements.
