Fiber Design Specialist

In this role, you'll play a crucial role in designing and engineering reliable, high-performance fiber optic networks for our valued clients. As a Fiber Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining detailed fiber optic network designs, including fiber paths, equipment placement, and splicing configurations. You will utilize fiber optic design software to create accurate and comprehensive network plans, conduct site surveys, and collect necessary data for network design optimization. Collaboration with engineering and construction teams to ensure project requirements and specifications are met will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will review and analyze contractor proposals and estimates for fiber optic installations, manage permits and approvals for network construction projects, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during network deployment, and maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in fiber optic technology and industry best practices will also be an essential part of your job. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical, or related field) preferred, or a Diploma can be considered. A minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optic network design and engineering is required. Proficiency in using fiber optic design software such as 3GIS, AutoCAD, or FiberCAD is essential. You should have a strong understanding of fiber optic technology, principles, and components, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, along with strong communication and written documentation skills, is necessary. Being detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality is crucial for this role. You should also be comfortable working night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
