ETL Data Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Perform

  ETL testing

  for data pipelines, staging, transformation, and target tables.
• Validate

  data extraction, transformation, and loading

  processes from multiple sources to Data Warehouse.
• Conduct

  data quality checks, reconciliation, and validation

  between source and target systems.
• Develop

  automation scripts using Python

  for data validation and regression testing.
• Work with

  AWS Glue, Redshift (or Azure Synapse/ADF)

  to test and validate cloud data pipelines.
• Analyze and debug ETL jobs, identify root causes of failures, and validate performance.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, and Business Analysts to understand data mapping and transformation logic.
• Write

  SQL queries

  for data validation, profiling, and reconciliation.
• Contribute to

  test strategy, test planning, and reporting

  for data migration and transformation projects.
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration for automated data quality testing.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4 + years

  of experience in

  ETL Testing & Data Warehouse Testing

  .
• Strong expertise in

  SQL (complex queries, joins, aggregations, validations)

  .
• Proficiency in

  Python scripting

  for test automation, data parsing, and validation.
• Hands-on experience in

  AWS services (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, Athena)

  or

  Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks)

  .
• Experience in

  Data Lake, Data Warehousing concepts, and Big Data testing

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Glue, ADF, etc.)

  .
• Familiarity with

  CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, etc.)

  for test automation integration.
• Knowledge of

  Agile/Scrum methodologies

  and experience working in data-centric projects.

Good to Have

• Exposure to

  PySpark or Pandas

  for data validation.
• Experience in

  performance testing

  of ETL jobs.
• Knowledge of

  data governance and data quality frameworks

  .
• Cloud certification in

  AWS/Azure/GCP

  .

Education

• Bachelors/masters degree in computer science
