Engineering Manager

Position Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead all engineering, design, and project PMC execution activities for the Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) facility serving Oil & Gas operations. This role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of ZLD systems used to treat and recycle produced water, refinery effluent, and process wastewater in compliance with stringent environmental regulations and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil disciplines.
• Oversee design, installation, and commissioning of ZLD systems, including evaporators, crystallizers, reverse osmosis (RO), multi-effect evaporators (MEE), and mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) systems.
• Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with refinery or upstream facility wastewater treatment objectives.
• Ensure plant designs and operations comply with API, ASME, OSHA, and local environmental standards.
• Manage capital projects—budget control, cost forecasting, scheduling, and contractor management.
• Drive continuous improvement in energy efficiency, water recovery, and system reliability.
• Conduct technical reviews and approve engineering deliverables—PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot complex plant performance issues.
• Interface with technology licensors, consultants, and regulatory bodies for design validation and environmental compliance.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team with a strong focus on process safety and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
• 15–20 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment systems within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior or managerial engineering role overseeing ZLD or similar treatment facilities.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamic systems, evaporation/crystallization technologies, and water recycling in hydrocarbon environments.
• Experience with EPC project management and commissioning of industrial effluent systems.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in design and simulation tools (AutoCAD, Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or equivalent).
