Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Salesforce, you will lead a team of talented software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software. You will be responsible for the technical direction, execution, and overall health of your team. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, and other engineering leaders to define and deliver on our product roadmap. The Unified Operator Experience team at Salesforce is responsible for building a case-based application so service operators can safely and directly provision production changes that remediate customer or service issues. This application standardizes a secure, auditable and intuitive agentic user experience, allowing all Salesforce properties to increase transparency and operational efficiency. Operators will be able to perform Day 2 operations in a safe way maintaining high availability with proper guardrails. We are a highly collaborative and innovative group focused on delivering robust, performant, and scalable solutions using technologies like Java, SQL, JavaScript, Apex and Platform Development. Responsibilities include: - Leading and managing a team of software engineers by recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent. - Providing technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture. - Owning the technical vision and direction for team projects, participating in architectural discussions, and driving the delivery of high-quality software on time and within budget. - Collaborating effectively with Product Managers, Architects, and other engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical strategy, design, and seamless integration and delivery. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in software development and 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team of software engineers. Strong technical proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, Apex, SQL, along with excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are required. Experience with Agile development methodologies and a passion for building scalable, reliable, and high-quality software are essential. Desired skills/experience include working in a SaaS environment, experience with Apex and Salesforce platform development, familiarity with full stack or backend development, and experience with test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
