Project description
This role requires a highly accountable Engineering Manager to lead development teams building and enhancing regulatory reporting solutions for capital markets. The position demands strong technical expertise in Java, deep knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks, and a proven ability to manage delivery in a high-stakes environment where accuracy, timeliness, and compliance are critical.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering teams responsible for regulatory reporting systems.

Own end-to-end delivery, from design through deployment, ensuring quality and compliance.

Drive system scalability, data accuracy, and timeliness to meet strict regulatory obligations.

Collaborate with business, operations, and compliance stakeholders to align technology with reporting requirements.

Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality benchmarks.

Mentor and coach engineers, fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Proactively identify risks and dependencies, ensuring delivery within regulatory deadlines.

Champion accountability, transparency, and ownership across the engineering function.

Skills
Must have

12+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in engineering leadership roles.

Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE technologies and large-scale system design.

Solid understanding of capital markets with direct exposure to regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., EMIR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, SFTR).

Proven track record of delivering complex, compliance-driven technology projects.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a focus on accountability. Nice to have

Experience with data pipelines, ETL, and reconciliation processes.

Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices.

Knowledge of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Exposure to reporting automation and data governance tools.
