Engineering Lead (Data Science)

As a Data Science & Engineering Lead at Caller.digital, you will play a pivotal role in driving the architecture, experimentation, automation, and scaling of the voice AI platform. Your responsibilities will include: - **LLM Engineering & Agentic Workflows:** - Architect, build, and optimize LLM pipelines from platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Llama. - Develop advanced memory systems, retrieval flows, and structured output agents. - Work with real-time Speech-to-Text (STT), LLM, and Text-to-Speech (TTS) loops using tools like LiveKit, Cartesia, Soniox, and Deepgram. - Improve latency, accuracy, and cost efficiency. - **Automation & Backend Development:** - Build automation workflows utilizing LangChain, LangGraph, and n8n. - Design and maintain backend APIs/services in Python or Node.js. - Manage vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, and Qdrant. - Create data pipelines for finetuning, evaluation, and analytics. - **Data Science & Model Operations:** - Conduct experiments for STT benchmarking, prompt tuning, and call quality scoring. - Analyze call logs at scale to enhance agent performance. - Develop monitoring dashboards and automated evaluation pipelines. - **Technical Leadership:** - Mentor and guide junior engineers. - Drive AI architecture decisions from end-to-end. - Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and customer teams for rapid iteration. - Lead the AI engineering pod and progress towards the Head of Engineering role. **Required Skills:** - Total experience of 4-10 years. - Deep hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, HF). - Strong exposure to LangChain and LangGraph. - Experience with n8n automation. - Strong Python or Node.js engineering fundamentals. - Solid understanding of prompts, structured generation, and RAG. - Experience with vector databases and API-driven architectures. - Familiarity with real-time conversational AI or event-driven systems. **Good to Have:** - Experience with LiveKit or Plivo. - Knowledge of orchestration layers, asynchronous systems, and Redis. - Exposure to MLOps/model monitoring. - Prior experience in early-stage startups.
