Engineer -Structure

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Analysis

• Prepare, review, and validate structural designs for bridges, culverts, ROB/RUB structures, retaining walls, and foundations.
• Perform structural analysis using software such as STAAD Pro, Midas, or similar tools.
• Ensure compliance with IRC, IS codes, MoRTH specifications, and project-specific standards.
• Provide value engineering solutions and optimise designs for cost-effectiveness and safety.

Drawings & Documentation

• Review and approve structural drawings, GFC drawings, shop drawings, and bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Prepare technical reports, design calculation sheets, and method statements.
• Coordinate with drafting teams to develop accurate drawings.

Site Coordination & Support

• Provide technical support to site teams during execution.
• Conduct site visits to inspect structural works, shuttering, reinforcement placement, and concrete quality.
• Resolve site technical queries and propose corrective actions.
• Verify contractors work methodology and ensure compliance.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure design and execution align with quality standards, safety norms, and project requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits, technical meetings, and review sessions.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors for design approvals.
• Monitor progress of structural components to ensure timely completion.
• Assist in preparing BOQs, estimates, and tender-related technical inputs.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of structural design principles and highway structure requirements.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Midas Civil, and other structural tools.
• Sound knowledge of IRC, IS Codes, MoRTH, and relevant design standards.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in National Highway / State Highway projects.
• Worked on bridges, box/pipe culverts, retaining walls, viaducts, and other road-related structures.
• Exposure to EPC / DBFOT / HAM model projects is an added advantage.
