Role & responsibilities

Electrical MEP Engineer

• Design Review & Coordination:

• Review electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, emergency systems, grounding, and lightning protection.
  
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines.
  
• Evaluate design drawings and BOQs for accuracy and completeness.
  

• Site Execution & Supervision:

• Oversee on-site installation of electrical systems including MV/LV panels, cabling, lighting, backup power systems (generators/UPS), etc.
  
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and safety standards.
  
• Conduct inspections, site walks, and quality checks for electrical installations.
  

• Project Management:

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the execution of electrical works in line with project timelines.
  
• Coordinate with procurement teams for material selection and technical submittal approvals.
  
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes of electrical systems.
  

• Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure all works comply with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards (IEC, NEC, DEWA, or local authority regulations).
  
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, progress updates, and punch lists.
  

• Technical Support:

• Resolve site-based technical issues and respond to RFIs related to electrical works.
  
• Collaborate with consultants, local authorities, and utility providers for necessary permits and inspections.
