Engineer - Electrical Simulation

Role & responsibilities

1) Validate concept and detailed designs using simulation techniques to assess robustness and ensure critical-to-function performance.

2) Perform advanced mechanical simulations including stress, strain, deformation, thermal expansion, and fatigue to support electrical connector product development.

3) Conduct electrostatic and thermal simulations to accurately model electric field distribution, insulation performance, and heat dissipation in high-voltage components.

3) Execute corona discharge simulations using appropriate tools to identify and mitigate partial discharge risk in high-voltage environments.

4) Utilize Multi physics Simulation Tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, CST) to perform integrated simulations combining electrical, mechanical, and thermal domains (MET Multi physics Engineering Tasks).

5) Analyze connector system performance under various load and environmental conditions to ensure compliance with design and functional specifications.

6) Interpret FEA results effectively and provide design recommendations based on engineering judgment and simulation insights.

7) Perform basic engineering calculations to validate FEA outcomes and support correlation with real-world testing.

8) Apply relevant international standards and define appropriate boundary conditions for accurate finite element modeling.

9) Create and manage simulation workflows, automate repetitive tasks where possible, and improve overall analysis efficiency. Collaborate closely with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to validate simulation models with physical test results.

10) Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including simulation reports, failure analysis reports, and design review presentations.

11) Contribute to 3D CAD design using Creo/Pro-E and create associated 2D drawings as needed to support simulation work.

12) Take full ownership of assigned simulation tasks, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality results.
