Engine Assembly/ Transmission Assy Production Engineer For Auto OEM for Auto OEM in to Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Position: Engineer - Production Location: Oragadam , Factory site Department: Engine Assembly Shop/Transmission Assembly Shop Qualification: Diploma (Mechanical/Automobile) Experience: 3 to 7 years Age: 23 to 33 years Job Description - Role Summary The Production Engineer will oversee engine & transmission manufacturing processes in a commercial vehicle plant , ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to production targets. The role involves process optimization, troubleshooting, and implementing lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity in machining, assembly, and testing operations. . Roles and Responsibilities 1.Achieving the assembly SQDCM targets. 2. Monitoring of assembly process by conducting process and torque audits. 3. Implementation and monitoring Process & Quality improvements in Production. 4. Analyzing and resolving inline Process and Parts quality issues. 5. Responsible for the reporting blue collars for their training and skill enhancement plan 6. Planning manpower and other required resources for streamlined production flow. 7. Strong believer and implementer of continuous improvements 8. Should be able to train & guide the blue collar associates/trainees 9. Should be able to comprehend issues related to quality and take effective counter measures 10. Implementing new techniques to improve the productivity 11. Lean Manufacturing 5S, TPM, SMED, Poka-Yoke for defect reduction. Quality Standards IATF 16949, PPAP, PFMEA, and PPM control. Precision Tools Torque wrenches, CMM, leak testers, and PLC-controlled lines. Automation & Robotics Familiarity with automated assembly and pick-and-place systems. Problem-Solving – RCA, 8D, and quick downtime resolution. ERP/MES Systems – SAP PP, digital work instructions, SPC tracking. Safety & Compliance – OSHA, LOTO, ergonomic assembly practices. New Product Launch (NPI) – Process validation and trial runs. Soft Skills – Team coordination, technician training, and data-driven reporting. Other Requirements 1.
