EMI/EMC (Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility) Quality Engineer shall be responsible for ensuring that electronic systems and products comply with relevant EMC/EMI regulations, standards, and customer requirements. This role involves conducting analysis, troubleshooting and design reviews to minimize electromagnetic interference and ensure product reliability and regulatory compliance.
EMC/EMI Testing & Compliance:
Plan, execute, and document EMI/EMC tests in accordance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, MIL-STD, CISPR, FCC, DO-160).
Prepare pre-compliance and full compliance check for conducted and radiated emissions, susceptibility, and immunity.
Work with test labs to ensure proper execution of certification testing.
Design Support & Troubleshooting:
Collaborate with design engineers to implement EMC/EMI best practices during building development.
Analyze PCB layouts, shielding, grounding, and filtering techniques to minimize interference.
Identify, diagnose, and mitigate EMI/EMC issues through design modifications or component selection.
Regulatory & Standards Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant EMI/EMC standards (e.g., CISPR, FCC Part 15, IEC 61000, MIL-STD-461).
Quality Assurance & Documentation:
Develop and maintain EMC test plans, reports, and validation documentation.
Support internal audits and quality assurance processes related to EMC/EMI.
Review supplier components for EMC compliance.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other engineering teams to optimize designs for building performance.
Assist in customer and regulatory audits related to EMI/EMC compliance.
Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in EMC/EMI testing, design, or compliance engineering.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with EMC/EMI test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, TEM cells, anechoic chambers).
Experience with PCB layout best practices for EMI control.
Knowledge of shielding, grounding, and filtering techniques.
Understanding of regulatory standards like CISPR, FCC, MIL-STD-461, IEC 61000, and DO-160.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
