Electrical Design Manager

Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage transformer design activities from concept to final design approval.
• Prepare and validate electrical designs, GA drawings, bill of materials, and technical specifications for transformers up to 132kV.
• Ensure compliance with IS/IEC/ANSI standards, customer specifications, and utility norms.
• Coordinate with mechanical design, production, testing, quality, and marketing teams.
• Participate in customer technical discussions, approvals, and design validation.
• Evaluate and implement cost optimization measures without compromising quality.
• Conduct design reviews, technical audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior design engineers.
• Support in R&D for new product development and innovation.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (M.E./M.Tech preferred).
• 8-15 years of hands-on experience in transformer design (distribution & power, up to 132kV).
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic design, short circuit strength, and thermal performance.
• Proficiency in using transformer design software (e.g., ELCAD, Maxwell, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant simulation tools.
• Strong interpersonal and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
