DISTINGUISHED, SOFTWARE ENGINEER

As the Distinguished Software Engineer at Walmart Global Tech, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership to support the deployment and adoption of new Finance technology across the enterprise. Your primary focus will be on the retail domain areas owned by teams in IDC, with the goal of bringing in technology solutions and platforms that address business challenges faced by Walmart and the retail industry as a whole. Your responsibilities will include leading and inspiring high-performing engineering teams to build and scale reliable, secure, and performant platform/products and frameworks in the omni-channel retail space. You will be responsible for owning the technical design, realization, and DevOps for a complex microservices ecosystem catering to a large-scale warehouse retail company. Additionally, you will drive a results-oriented culture with a strong emphasis on engineering excellence, execution, and scalability. Moreover, you will be expected to develop trusted partnerships with developers, partners, and architecture leaders to drive optimized platform/product delivery. Your role will also involve leading complex technical and strategic discussions involving multiple stakeholders, as well as driving the development of designs/solutions that integrate various technologies to meet business objectives. To excel in this role, you should bring to the table at least 15 years of engineering experience, with a focus on large-scale product development in open stack and microservices delivery environments. You should have a keen eye for emerging technology trends and their potential business applications, along with a track record of being a game changer in the industry. In addition, you should possess strong technical expertise in building distributed systems and products using hybrid cloud technology, particularly in the retail domain. Your ability to set and drive technical vision, provide mentorship at all levels of engineering talent, and resolve complex technical issues will be crucial to your success in this role.
