Dimensional Management Engineer

BIW

Key Responsibilities:

• Define

  measurement systems

  ,

  locator strategies

  , and

  tolerance specifications

  for BIW components and exterior trims.
• Ensure measurement system robustness across the full production chainfrom part fabrication to complete BIW.
  
• Analyze

  functional requirements

  and establish

  fitment strategies

  for different modules.
• Create and align

  tolerance concepts

  in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Perform

  tolerance stack-up studies

  (1D, 2D, or 3D) to preemptively address potential manufacturing issues.
• Use

  3DCS

  software to run digital simulations of the assembly process and validate concepts.
• Develop and manage

  gap and flush plans

  to meet visual and perceived quality standards.
• Participate in discussions with CFTs to incorporate design/manufacturing feedback and propose feasible solutions.
  
• Develop

  module and closure integration strategies

  in line with gap & flush and production requirements.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery across all project milestones.
  

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience with

  3D tolerance simulation tools

  (preferably 3DCS).
• In-depth knowledge of

  Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

  and

  Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  .
• Solid understanding of

  BIW manufacturing processes

  and

  automotive assembly operations

  .
• Exposure to

  visual and perceived quality

  standards in the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with various

  measurement systems

  and

  inspection techniques

  .
• Proficient in

  UG NX

  (Unigraphics NX).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  
• Agile and adaptable to different vehicle architectures in a fast-paced development environment.
