DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer for a 3-month remote contract, with the potential for extension. This is a part-time opportunity offering highly competitive pay for the right candidate.

A key responsibility in this role will be to provide hands-on training and job support to an individual with zero prior AWS or cloud experience. The ability to transfer deep AWS knowledge and communicate complex cloud concepts in simple terms is essential.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will:

• Build and maintain automated delivery pipelines.
• Provision and manage multi-cloud environments with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Deploy, scale, and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement robust observability practices with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Manage secrets, enforce security compliance, and collaborate with developers for secure deployments.
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
• Promote best practices and mentor junior team members.

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or SRE roles.
• Deep and proven expertise with AWS.
• Proficient in Terraform, Pulumi, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong experience with Docker/Kubernetes and Linux administration.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability frameworks.
• Solid grasp of networking, security, and system administration.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Available during Pacific Standard Time hours for collaboration and training.

• Experience in live/VOD video streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with multimedia codecs (AVC, HEVC, VP9) and DRM systems (PlayReady, Widevine).
