DevOps Engineer I

Responsibilities

Kubernetes & Containerization:

• Deploy and manage Kubernetes (K8s) clusters across bare-metal and cloud environments.
• Use Helm and similar tools for application packaging and deployment.
• Maintain K8s deployment templates for consistent service rollouts.
• Work with installation tools and distributions like kubeadm, kubespray, k3s, Rancher, or OpenShift for bare-metal deployments.
  

Infrastructure & OS

• Support in designing and deploying infrastructure solutions for bare-metal environments.
• Perform Linux system administration and troubleshooting on physical servers.
• Use scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools for automated provisioning and management.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of database servers.
  

Networking & Security

• Assist in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting networking components such as routing, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Apply security best practices, including system hardening and access control.
• Support compliance-driven infrastructure operations.
  

CI/CD & Automation

• Contribute to building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for software build, testing, and deployment.
• Write automation scripts (Python, Bash, Ansible, etc. ) for deployment and operational tasks.
  

Reliability & Operations

• Configure and manage monitoring & alerting tools to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Support backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
• Conduct performance checks and assist in capacity planning for infrastructure optimization.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth service deployment and reliability.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Administration, preferably with exposure to bare-metal environments.
• Solid knowledge of Linux system administration, scripting, troubleshooting, and basic performance tuning.
• Good understanding of networking concepts (DNS, routing, load balancing, firewalls).
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and backup strategies.
• Working knowledge of database technologies and their administration.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (cloud and/or bare-metal), including deployment and management.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar).
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
