Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive DB2 Developer/DBA to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of large-scale database systems supporting critical business applications. The ideal candidate will have experience managing high-volume data environments , strong SQL development and performance tuning expertise , and hands-on experience with database migrations and automation . This role provides the opportunity to work in a global, cross-functional team , tackling complex data scalability and performance challenges.

Mode of Work: Full time - hybrid  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support large-scale, mission-critical applications.  
  
• Collaborate with global teams to understand application landscapes, data topology, and dependencies across online data stores and data warehousing systems.  
  
• Address scalability, performance, and optimization challenges related to large data sets and multiple data sources.  
  
• Participate in database migration projects (e.g., from Sybase to DB2, Azure SQL, or other modern platforms).  
  
• Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and monitoring for high availability and reliability.  
  
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Linux Shell Scripting and Python.  
  
• Work with ETL tools (Informatica) to manage data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.  
  
• Utilize Autosys or equivalent scheduling tools to orchestrate data workflows and batch processes.  
  
• Prepare functional and technical documentation, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance standards.  
  
• Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver robust and efficient data solutions.  
  
  

Requirements:  

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.  
  
• 4 6 years of experience as a DB2 Developer/DBA or similar database development role.  
  
• Strong expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.  
  
• Hands-on experience in database migrations from Sybase to modern platforms (e.g., DB2, Azure SQL Server).  
  
• Proficiency with relational databases Sybase, DB2, Azure SQL and exposure to NoSQL databases.  
  
• Strong skills in Linux Shell scripting and working knowledge of Python programming.  
  
• Experience with Informatica for ETL processes and Autosys (or similar scheduling tools).  
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.  
  
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.  
  
• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.  
  

  Good to have skills:  

• Prior experience in financial services or banking domains.  
  
• Knowledge of modern data architectures and database modernization strategies.  
  
• Experience migrating large-scale databases to cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure).  
  
• Exposure to data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.
