About the Role:
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the database runs smoothly and functions as expected to ensure business goals are achieved. Look for ways to optimize the performance of the database, create backups that come in handy during disaster recovery, and monitor security and access.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop simple and complex stored procedures, functions and views to meet enhancement requirements.
- Provide best practice guidance to the development team with regard to database design and usage.
- Design and develop relational databases.
- Optimize the performance of postgres databases using your knowledge in PostgreSQL Internals.
- Develop appropriate corrective actions to resolve production data issues.
- Upgrade and Migrate PostgreSQL databases to Cloud and between Cloud platforms.
Candidate Requirement:
- 2+ years of experience in managing PostgreSQL database.
- Must have a deeper understanding of the PostgreSQL architecture and internals.
- Experience in handling large database & optimizing the performance of postgres database.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and solving complex databases schemas/warehouses.
- Experience in database development, administration and management.
- Knowledge on the most widely used extensions in PostgreSQL for monitoring, analyzing and maintaining the databases.
- Must be able to perform PostgreSQL Upgrades from legacy to latest versions with least possible downtime.
