Data Engineering Architect

Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud & Data Solutions

• Identify and implement optimal, secure, and cost-effective Azure cloud-based solutions.
• Design and implement end-to-end Azure data solutions that cover data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization.
• Architect data platforms using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure SQL Database, and PySpark.

Data Fabric Implementation

• Develop and deploy a data fabric to unify disparate data sources, ensuring seamless integration, data governance, and improved accessibility across the organization.

Data Pipeline & Model Development

• Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for efficient data movement, transformation, and real-time analytics.
• Design data models and schemas that support business requirements and enable business intelligence and analytical insights.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with Architecture, Applications, and Security teams to refine technical solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the data engineering team, fostering innovation and ensuring best practices in data engineering.

Innovation & Documentation

• Stay updated on emerging Azure technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data architecture.
• Recommend improvements to optimize the data environment, minimize waste, and maximize investments.
• Create and update comprehensive documentation for solution designs, troubleshooting, and cross-team training.

Security & Compliance

• Collaborate with Security and Architecture teams to deploy and refine security best practices, ensuring data is protected against potential threats.
• Ensure that data solutions comply with industry standards for data protection, threat detection, and recovery.

Qualifications

Experience & Expertise

• Minimum 12+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years as an Azure Data Architect.
• Strong expertise in all aspects of Azure cloud services with a focus on data engineering, BI reporting, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, robust, and secure data solutions for large-scale applications.
