We are seeking an outstanding Data Engineer to join our Data Ops team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, building, managing, and optimizing large-scale datasets across diverse data platforms. You should possess excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, working closely with business and product teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable ETL/data pipeline solutions.
This role requires a self-driven individual who is comfortable exploring new technologies, reverse-engineering existing pipelines, and continuously improving data systems with minimal guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain clean, efficient, and scalable ETL pipelines and data solutions.
- Reverse-engineer existing processes and pipelines to understand, optimize, and enhance them.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Develop database objects, APIs, reports, and other software components required for data-driven applications.
- Monitor production workflows, proactively identify risks, and deliver solutions aligned with team commitments.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and evaluate new technologies for potential implementation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Build strong working relationships and foster a collaborative, trust-based team environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience with ETL development, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, and Data Analysis.
- Strong experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, CloudFormation, API Gateway (or equivalent cloud services).
- Expertise in writing and optimizing data pipelines using strongly typed OOP languages (C#, Java).
- Experience with streaming and real-time data processing at low latencies.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience using LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to enhance daily work productivity.
- MS SQL and/or PostgreSQL experience preferred.
