Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our databases, with a strong focus on migrating on-premises databases to the cloud and managing them on the Azure platform. This role requires a deep understanding of database technologies, a proactive approach to performance and security, and a hands-on ability to implement and manage cloud-native database services.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, configure, and execute the migration of on-premises databases to the Azure cloud environment.
Implement and manage cloud-native database services, including MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB.
Leverage T-SQL for various administrative tasks, such as managing user permissions, creating stored procedures, and performing data manipulation.
Manage both logical and physical changes to the database schemas to support migration and ongoing operations.
Implement and enforce robust security measures to protect databases and data from unauthorized access and breaches.
Monitor database performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance query speed and resource utilization.
Design and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
Develop and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions to guarantee minimal downtime and data loss.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven hands-on experience in migrating and managing databases on Azure.
Strong understanding of database design principles, performance optimization, and security protocols.
Extensive experience with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, or MongoDB.
Proficiency in T-SQL for database administration and development tasks.
Familiarity with cloud-native tools and services, such as Azure Resource Manager, Azure Portal, and Azure PowerShell.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to database maintenance.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
