Data Architect

Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, governed data models and architectures on cloud platforms. The role will focus on defining canonical entities, conformed dimensions, and fact models to enable robust analytics, while ensuring compliance with enterprise data standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end data architecture on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).


• Define and implement 3NF canonical models and dimensional/star schema models to support reporting and analytics.


• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into logical and physical data models.


• Establish and enforce data modelling, metadata management, and governance standards.


• Guide Data Engineers in building ingestion pipelines aligned to architectural standards.


• Translate transformation logic from legacy BI/ETL systems into modern data architecture patterns.


• Ensure data lineage, auditability, and traceability are embedded into the design.


• Provide oversight for data quality frameworks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes.


• Support BI developers and application engineers in consuming curated data models.


• Conduct performance reviews of data models and optimise for scalability and cost efficiency.


• Produce and maintain comprehensive architecture and design documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of professional experience in data architecture and data modelling.


• Proven experience designing and implementing canonical data models (3NF) and conformed dimensions in cloud or enterprise environments.


• Strong expertise in SQL, dimensional modelling, and star schema design.


• Hands-on experience with cloud data services (AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, DMS, or Azure/GCP equivalents).


• Experience translating legacy ETL/BI logic (e.g., TM1, Cognos, Informatica, etc.) into modern data architectures.


• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.


• Practical experience with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated deployments.


• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams (business, IT, engineering) to define and deliver data solutions.


• Excellent communication skills to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of AI/ML-driven approaches for metadata management, automated data quality monitoring, or model optimisation.


• Experience using AI-assisted coding/modelling tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate design and documentation.


• Familiarity with data catalogue and lineage tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue Data Catalog).


• Industry experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or financial reporting is advantageous.
