Core Network Engineer

As a Core Network Engineer, you play a vital role in the Core Network Engineering team. Your responsibilities include deploying, maintaining, and expanding a scalable, maintainable, and highly available network infrastructure that aligns with business objectives and SLAs. Key Responsibilities: - Create low-level designs based on high-level designs provided by the Architecture team. - Develop migration implementation plans and execute planned work during maintenance windows. - Review and validate high-level designs and migration plans. - Conduct end-to-end testing of engineered solutions before deployment in live networks. - Implement and deploy network solutions and services, including changes during nightly windows and handover to Operations. - Assist in capacity augmentation and network optimization deployments. - Test and certify new network hardware and software, and participate in Proof of Concept with vendors. - Troubleshoot and resolve network hardware, software, and system issues. - Recommend enhancements to network performance, capacity, and scalability. - Mentor team members and provide coaching to new hires. Technical Requirements: - Thorough understanding of networking protocols such as ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, and QoS. - Experience in network planning, design, and implementation in High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD). - Comprehensive knowledge of IPv4/v6 migration techniques and policy languages. - Solid grasp of Juniper routing and switching products and technologies. - Proficiency in reverse engineering and problem-solving. - Strong understanding of technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator. Additional Responsibilities: - Proficient in documenting and writing Low-Level Designs guidelines. - Familiarity with route reflectors and service provider networks. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being independent, confident, and delivery-focused. Preferred Skills: - Domain expertise in Network Security Protocols & Standards, MPLS. - Telecom experience in Wireless LTE Core network technology & protocols. - Knowledge of Cloud Security with a focus on GCP Infrastructure Security. - Experience in Virtual Private Network and Pulse secure VPN technologies.,
