Content Developer

As an experienced Content Developer, you will be responsible for creating, organizing, and deploying content to web sites using WordPress CMS. Your role will involve collaborating with web development and marketing teams to design, develop, and maintain compelling online content, email newsletters, and rich-internet user experiences. Additionally, you will work on various tasks such as creating unique content, developing landing pages, banner ads, graphics for blogs, SEO-optimized content pages, email newsletter templates, video content, and coordinating with other content writers/freelancers for copyrighting work. Occasionally, you may also engage in functional web development tasks involving PHP, AJAX, and/or Javascript. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build, develop, deploy, and update content pages on web site(s) following HTML/CSS standards and maintaining the site(s) style. - Develop ad copies, graphics, and media elements for enhancing site visibility and advertising needs. - Coordinate with external freelance content writers, provide actionable data & ideas, and ensure specific content is published on web properties. - Assist in creating email newsletters, blog posts, social media content, and graphics for branding purposes. - Create new web sites using content management systems like WordPress & Joomla and customize them for design & functionality. - Develop or customize plugins/modules for specific web functionality or form processing. **Qualifications Required:** - BSc IT, BE, or BTech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study. - Minimum 3 years of professional experience in web design, content writing, or web publishing. - Above-average English communication skills (both verbal and written) with strong attention to detail. - Previous experience managing projects on freelancer platforms like ODesk or eLance. - Proven ability to work independently, solve problems, and deliver assignments responsibly. - Ability to multitask, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in HTML/XHTML, CSS, and design software like PhotoShop/Illustrator/GiMP. - Understanding of Web 2.0 design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and CSS/Web standards. **Preferred Skills:** - Knowledge of WordPress CMS. - Experience with PHP/MySQL based web sites or any CMS. - Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization standards and procedures. - Working knowledge of multimedia/video creation tools.
