Job Description

As a Coding Auditor at our company, you will be responsible for inpatient and outpatient coding and auditing for various specialties. You will also be in charge of preparing and presenting audit results to internal and external parties. Your key responsibilities will include: - Performing coding audits and compliance audits for providers, including physicians and mid-level providers - Preparing reports of audits and presenting audits to internal and external parties as needed - Ensuring accurate application of appropriate coding and documentation guidelines - Providing physician education when necessary, based on audit findings or edit and denial trending - Completing coding audits for our copartners coding WQ - Working with any offsite auditors - Evaluating and reporting on the overall quality of physician documentation supporting selected codes - Ensuring appropriate documentation and coding of split/shared services, teaching physician guidelines, and client-specific quality assessment programs - Compiling, trending, analyzing, and reporting on all findings that do not meet the guidelines - Maintaining a professional attitude - Performing any other duties as assigned by the management team Qualifications required for this role: - High School diploma or equivalent - CPC or CCS coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC - Minimum 5 years of coding experience and minimum 2 years of auditing experience in a multi-specialty setting - Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel - Ability to use job-related software - Self-starter with the ability to work independently Please note, you will be required to use, protect, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
