Job Description

Job Summary
The CNC Setter is responsible for the setup and preparation of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery for production runs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installing and aligning tools and fixtures, adjusting machine parameters, conducting first-piece inspections, and ensuring the machine is ready for efficient, high-quality production. The CNC Setter will work closely with CNC Operators and Programmers to optimize production processes and troubleshoot setup issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup and Preparation:
  • Set up and configure various CNC machines, including mills and lathes, for production tasks.
  • Install and accurately align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Load and test CNC programs, making necessary adjustments to offsets, speeds, and feeds for optimal machining.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct first-off inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify part conformance to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to approve initial production runs.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and make adjustments as needed to ensure consistent part quality.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
  • Identify and resolve machine setup problems and process inefficiencies to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication, and report any major mechanical issues.
  • Inventory and Documentation:
  • Maintain an organized tooling inventory and ensure proper storage.
  • Accurately complete production and quality logs, detailing machine settings and inspection outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration and Safety:
  • Work effectively with CNC Operators and Programmers to meet production targets and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A vocational certificate, diploma, or relevant apprenticeship in machining or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a CNC Setter or CNC Machinist.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code is an asset.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools.
  • Hands-on experience with tool offsets and work holding techniques.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capability to lift and move materials or workpieces as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,006.67 per month
