JOB DECRIPTION Prepared By: Verified By: Document No. Plant Head Operation Head SBFL/JD/CNC/2025 Job Description: CNC MACHINE OPERATOR - SALVAGNINI PANEL BENDER MACHINE Industry: Sheet Metal Fabrication Department: Production Reporting To: Production Manager / Engineer Supervisor Location: Kumbalgodu – Bengaluru-560074 JOB PURPOSE Operate and maintain the Salvagnini CNC Panel Bender to produce sheet metal components as per engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules. Ensure precision, efficiency, and continuous workflow with zero defects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Machine Operation:  Operate Salvagnini Panel Bender (P2/P4/P1 or applicable model).  Load and unload sheet metal components safely.  Set up programs using S-CAP / CNC interface.  Select correct bending tools, blades, and grippers based on the job.  Achieve accurate bends as per drawing and tolerance requirements. Production Execution  Interpret engineering drawings and bend sequences.  Verify job card details, material thickness, grade, and bending requirements.  Ensure correct routing and sequence for each part.  Maintain planned cycle times and production targets. Quality Control  Perform first-piece inspection (FPI) and get QC approval.  Measure dimensions using Vernier, height gauge, angle gauge, etc.  Identify and correct bending issues (spring back, twist, overbend, underbend).  Report non-conformities and coordinate with QC for corrective action. Machine Maintenance  Perform daily machine cleaning and basic preventive checks.  Check lubrication, tool condition, and gripper alignment.  Report machine issues immediately to maintenance for corrective action.  Assist in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities. Page: 1 of 2 JOB DECRIPTION Prepared By: Verified By: Document No. Plant Head Operation Head SBFL/JD/CNC/2025 Safety & Compliance  Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe lifting practices.  Ensure proper stacking and handling of bent components.  Maintain 5S in the machine area (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Documentation  Record daily production, downtime, and rework data.  Update production log sheets and ERP entries (if applicable).  Maintain tool usage and wear records. Skills & Competencies  Experience with Salvagnini Panel Bender operation.  Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.  Ability to read technical drawings and bend programs.  Familiar with CNC controls, S-CAP programming, and tool selection.  Strong understanding of tolerances, angles, and quality parameters.  Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.  Good communication and teamwork.  Minimize helper/assistant labour usage during operations. Qualifications & Experience  ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, or related trades.  2–7 years of experience in sheet metal CNC bending & Panel bender operations.  Hands-on experience with Salvagnini machines is highly preferred.  Experience in fabrication industries with laser, bending, welding, assembly.
