CNC Bending Operator

As a CNC Machine Operator, your primary responsibility will be to operate CNC press brake machines efficiently in order to perform bending operations on sheet metal and various metal components. You will be required to set up machines according to job orders, blueprints, and tooling instructions provided. Your role will involve loading and editing CNC programs specific to each job, selecting appropriate tools and dies for bending tasks, and adjusting machine settings to maintain precision and accuracy. Quality control is a crucial aspect of this role, where you will be responsible for inspecting workpieces before and after bending to ensure they meet specifications. This will involve using measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges, as well as performing first-article and in-process inspections. Additionally, you will need to read and interpret engineering drawings or work orders to determine materials, dimensions, and tolerances, and correctly load and position materials on the machine. Maintenance and safety are key components of this position. You will be expected to perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments. Adherence to all safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential. Furthermore, maintaining accurate production records, logs, and inspection reports, as well as reporting any machine malfunctions, material defects, or quality issues to the supervisor, are important aspects of the role. Effective communication with team members, engineers, and supervisors is necessary to ensure a smooth production flow. Collaboration with colleagues to support continuous improvement efforts in productivity and quality will be part of your daily tasks. This job is a permanent position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC operations. The work schedule is during the day shift, and the job location is in person.
