CMM Programmer

Key Responsibilities
Determine part inspection requirements from internal or customer drawings.

• Create or edit programs for the coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
• Utilize the programs to complete dimensional inspection using the coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
• Conduct Arm inspection by programming and completing the dimensional inspection of final assembly and component parts.
• Analyze and troubleshoot Romer Arm setups and inspection paths.
• Understand and utilize GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) to complete detailed part inspection.
• Insure the part inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level.
• Complete PPAP and AS 9102 dimensional reports.
• Conduct finished product inspections with hand gauges and measurement systems.
• Inspect first piece of work order parts for correctness.
• Perform inspections on incoming goods as required.
• Log and maintain inspection data as needed for evaluating and reporting.
• Maintain calibration system and conduct calibrations as needed.

• Strong ability to develop inspection programs, using PCDMIS 2023r2 software systems or equivalent.
• 5-8 years minimum experience with CMM programming and operation.
• Strong proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong proficiency interpreting GD&T standards highly desired.
• Able to use quality inspection hand tools.
• Strong knowledge of surface plate inspection techniques, measuring tools, and gages.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
