Cloud Ops Engineer

This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience in telecom-grade cloud environments, and the ability to work as an L2 operations expert.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Operations & Platform Management

• Manage, monitor, and support

  OpenShift

  ,

  Kubernetes

  , and

  VMware

  cloud environments.
• Act as

  SPOC

  for cloud operational activities across pre-production and production clusters.
• Perform installation, upgrades, lifecycle management, and performance tuning of OCP clusters.
  
• Deploy cloud-native applications using

  Helm Charts

  ,

  OpenShift Templates

  , ConfigMaps, Secrets, and environment-specific configurations.

Security, Access & Compliance

• Administer

  RBAC

  , resource quotas, SCCs, and namespace/project configurations.
• Integrate identity providers and enforce security compliance policies.
  

Storage & Networking

• Provision and manage persistent storage using

  PVs, PVCs, and Storage Classes

  .
• Configure Services, Routes, Ingress Controllers, Network Policies, and cluster networking elements.
  

Monitoring & Observability

• Implement and maintain observability stack including

  Prometheus

  ,

  Grafana

  , and

  Alertmanager

  .
• Ensure SLA compliance through proactive monitoring and timely incident response.
  

Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Provide

  24x7 L2 support

  including incident handling, RCA, service restoration, and log analysis.
• Engage in bridge calls for high-severity issues and collaborate with L3 teams and vendors.
  
• Manage CRs, RFCs, and operational workflows through ITSM tools.
  

Advanced Cluster & Image Management

• Work with

  Red Hat ACM

  ,

  Advanced Cluster Security

  , and

  Quay

  for multi-cluster and image governance.
• Drive automation and GitOps practices through custom scripting and CICD integration.
  

Documentation & Collaboration

• Develop detailed

  MOPs

  , Work Instructions, Test Plans, and RCA documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for HLD/LLD reviews and network integration.
  
• Participate in software upgrades, platform testing, and operational acceptance activities.
  

Hardware & Infra Management

• Perform diagnostics and recovery activities on HPE and Ericsson CRU hardware via BMC/iLO consoles.
  

Required Skills & Technologies

• Strong experience with

  Red Hat OpenShift

  ,

  Kubernetes

  , Containers.
• Linux (RHEL) OS administration.
  
• VMware Integrated OpenStack / NFVI.
  
• Knowledge of GitOps workflows, Helm, YAML, scripting (Bash/Python preferred).
  
• Experience in telecom cloud ecosystems (CNFs/VNFs) is an added advantage.
  

Preferred Certifications (Plus Points)

• Kubernetes / OpenShift certifications (CKA/CKAD/RHCSA/RHCE preferred)
