Job Description

E-commerce Specialist

You’ll be responsible for gathering requirements, aligning stakeholder expectations, identifying potential e-commerce bottlenecks, and supporting clients in navigating technical roadblocks — all while ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Project & Client Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on all e-commerce-related website projects.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate client requirements into clear project briefs.
  • Maintain project documentation including scope, timelines, user flows, and platform-specific needs.
  • Regularly update clients and internal teams on project status, key milestones, risks, and dependencies.


2. E-commerce Platform Management

  • Coordinate e-commerce implementations and enhancements on

    Shopify

    ,

    WooCommerce

    , or

    Magento

    platforms.
  • Support in setting up product catalogs, collections, filters, and basic store configurations.
  • Troubleshoot platform-related issues in collaboration with developers or third-party service providers.
  • Understand e-commerce plugins, integrations (e.g., payment gateways, shipping APIs), and SEO best practices relevant to each platform.


3. Internal Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with UX/UI designers, content writers, SEO specialists, and developers to ensure deliverables are aligned to e-commerce objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to ensure smooth workflow and role clarity.
  • Help QA test key features such as checkout flows, responsiveness, and third-party integrations pre-launch.


4. Strategic Consultation

  • Provide platform-specific guidance to clients during planning, migration, or scaling phases.
  • Propose features and tools that enhance conversion, user experience, and back-end efficiency.
  • Stay updated with e-commerce trends, updates on platforms, and regulatory changes (e.g., data privacy, payments).


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of

    ecosystems (non-developmental).
  • Excellent

    client-facing communication

    and

    presentation

    skills.
  • High-level understanding of

    UX/UI

    analytics

    SEO

    content

    as they relate to e-commerce.
  • Experience with

    project management tools

    (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira, Monday.com).
  • Familiarity with third-party app ecosystems (e.g., Klaviyo, Stripe, Razorpay, Shiprocket).
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to translate tech issues into actionable items for non-technical clients.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in E-commerce, Business, Marketing, IT, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar e-commerce or project coordination role.
  • Experience in a digital agency or with multiple client e-commerce projects is a plus.
  • Certifications in Shopify, Magento, or PMP/Scrum (optional but preferred).
