Online Sales Category Manager

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement category growth strategies for E-commerce (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) and Q-commerce platforms (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, etc.).
  • Plan annual and quarterly business objectives, budgets, and promotions to achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.

Sales & Revenue Management

  • Own the P&L for assigned categories; monitor sales performance and profitability.
  • Drive pricing, assortment, and inventory optimization to maximize sales.
  • Collaborate with demand planning and supply chain teams to ensure product availability.

Platform Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with platform category managers, marketing teams, and account managers.
  • Negotiate visibility slots, promotional campaigns, and favorable commercial terms.

Budget & Campaign Management

  • Manage and allocate noticeable budgets across performance marketing, platform ads, and promotional spends.
  • Monitor ROI on marketing investments and optimize spend efficiency.

Data & Insights

  • Track, analyze, and report on sales performance, customer behavior, and promotional impact.
  • Provide actionable insights to senior management for decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years

    of experience in

    E-commerce and/or Q-commerce category management

    .
  • Strong P&L ownership experience with

    large-scale budget management

    .
  • Proven track record of delivering growth in online sales channels.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, analytics tools, and E-commerce platform dashboards.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of digital retail trends.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in

    FMCG, consumer goods, or retail

    industries.
  • Prior exposure to launching products online and managing multiple categories.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
