About the Role: Category Manager (E-commerce Marketplace)

We are seeking a strategic, business-head mindset to drive category growth on our cross-border e-commerce marketplace. This is a P&L-driven leadership role ideal for someone who has successfully built, scaled, and managed D2C brands or led high-performing digital storefronts.

In this role, you’ll take full ownership of the digital shelf for Indian brands aspiring to go global — from curating export-ready assortments to driving operational excellence and marketplace performance. Think of it as building a globally scalable platform that brings the best of Indian products to international consumers through seamless digital execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the

  end-to-end category P&L

  on goGlocal’s global e-commerce marketplace.
• Define and implement

  category growth strategy

  aligned to international buyer behavior.
• Curate top-performing product assortments and onboard high-potential D2C brands.
• Act as a

  business head for categories

  – managing product lifecycle, pricing, margins, and profitability.
• Partner with sourcing and onboarding teams to ensure seamless listing readiness and inventory availability.
• Build and optimize

  storefronts for brands

  – manage listings, images, content, pricing algorithms, and user experience.
• Lead and manage

  listing operations, promotions, and performance KPIs

  including conversions, returns, and margins.
• Drive

  cross-border marketplace execution

  – ensuring compliance with international standards for listings, packaging, and documentation.
• Analyze and act on category performance using sales dashboards, customer insights, and competitor benchmarking.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, tech, and marketing teams to enhance the global shopping journey.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in

  category management, marketplace operations, or e-commerce buying

  .
• Proven track record of owning P&L and growing product verticals across online platforms.
• Experience in running or managing D2C brands or stores (e.g., own Shopify, Amazon storefront, or digital marketplaces).
• Strong grip on

  catalog operations, pricing levers, and customer behavior

  in online retail.
• Exposure to international commerce, logistics, or export regulations is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with CMS tools, seller panels, and e-commerce dashboards.
• Entrepreneurial mindset –

  who can think like a founder

  and act like an operator.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or E-commerce; MBA is a bonus.
