Position Title: Biomedical Engineer

Job Purpose:

To ensure proper installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of all medical equipment and devices used in the hospital, ensuring their safe and effective functioning at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot biomedical and ophthalmic equipment (OCT, Phaco machine, slit lamp, microscope, lasers, etc.).
• Perform regular preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment as per schedule.
• Maintain service and repair logs for all hospital equipment.
• Train doctors, nurses, and OT technicians on proper usage and handling of equipment.
• Coordinate with suppliers/vendors for servicing, spare parts, and warranty claims.
• Ensure all biomedical equipment complies with safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical support during surgeries and diagnostic procedures when required.
• Assist in equipment planning, procurement, and evaluation of new technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• B.Tech / Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in hospital/medical equipment maintenance (experience in eye hospital preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of medical safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Good communication skills and ability to work with medical teams.
