BI Developer

Position Brief:

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintaininteractive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to the business. The idealcandidate will work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to gatherreporting requirements, model data, and deliver impactful visualizations using BI tools such asPower BI.

Location: Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities:

1. Report & Dashboard Development• Design, build, and publish intuitive dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI).• Create charts, graphs, and KPIs that help drive decisions across departments.• Develop drill-down, interactive visualizations to support ad-hoc and strategic analysis.

2. Requirement Gathering• Collaborate with business users, product owners, and data analysts to gather anddocument BI/reporting requirements.• Translate business questions into technical solutions and reporting logic.

3. Data Preparation & Modeling• Prepare datasets for reporting using SQL queries, stored procedures, or data prep tools.• Build data models and define relationships between data tables to enable accuratereporting.• Implement calculated fields, measures, KPIs, and filters as per business logic.

4. Data Quality & Validation• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and anomaly checks to ensure data accuracy inreports.• Work closely with data engineers to troubleshoot and resolve data issues.

5. Performance Optimization

• Optimize reports for performance, minimizing query load times and improving
  responsiveness.• Use BI tool performance monitoring capabilities to troubleshoot slow reports

  6. Documentation & Support• Document report logic, data sources, calculations, and refresh schedules.• Provide ongoing support to users, handle enhancement requests, and train users on reportuse

  Required Skills and Qualifications:• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, orrelated field.• 3-5 years of experience as a BI Developer or in a related analytics role.• Proficiency with at least one leading BI tool: Power BI, Tableau, QlikView/Sense, Looker.• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server,Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).• Understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousingconcepts.• Familiarity with dashboard UX/UI best practices and effective data storytelling.

  Preferred Qualifications:• Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, AzureSynapse).• Basic understanding of ETL tools and data pipelines.• Knowledge of DAX (for Power BI).• Exposure to Python or R for data analysis is a plus.• Certifications: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
